Blizzard's Release Schedule? Diablo 3 Release Date Confirmed for End of 2011

(Click the image for the full size)
This image supposedly detailing Blizzard's planned release schedule from now until the end of 2014, was leaked to an MMO site by an annonymous source.

A few things from the image that stood out:

-Diablo III releasing at the end of 2011 with two expansions planned

-World of Warcraft launching in Brazil in mid-2011, with a fourth expansion in mid-2012 and a fifth expansion at the end of 2013. Also some mystery project called "WOW TOG"
-an unannounced project called Titan launching at the end of 2013 (presumably this is Blizzard's unannounced MMO)

-StarCraft II's first expansion as well as something called "StarCraft II Phoenix" coming at the end of 2011. The second StarCraft II expansion planned for beginning of 2013

-Battle.net map market launching in mid-2011

-Battle.net "third parties" launching at the start of 2012 -- possibly meaning third-party
releases available for download on Battle.net or using Battle.net for matchmaking? A Steam competitor?

Blizzard has put out a quote concerning this release schedule:

"As always, we appreciate the interest in Blizzard’s current and upcoming games, but we don’t comment on rumors or speculation and we don’t have any new announcements to make. Right now we’re fully focused on the upcoming launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, and we’re very much looking forward to celebrating that event with players around the world starting on December 7."

Elder Scrolls V: Direct Sequel to Oblivion

Elder Scrolls V: Direct Sequel to Oblivion

It's been confirmed by Eurogamer that Elder Scrolls V will be a direct sequel to Oblivion. Here are the quotes:

"[Our] source not only confirmed that the game is in current production, but also spoke briefly about the content — with fantasy-sounding phrases like Dragon Lord, something with The Blades — and that voice acting for the characters in the game is currently happening in the weeks to follow", Eurogamer Denmark's boss Kristian West says.

"The same source confirmed, with official game documents in hand, that this will be the chronological sequel to what happened in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is the latest game in the now 16-years-old Elder Scrolls saga and by itself one of the better RPGs for PC and consoles."

It's about time in my opinion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are great, but I think most Bethesda fans have been wanting a sequel to Oblivion for a while now.

It's not possible to make an ultimate stealth character in Fallout NV like you
could in Fallout 3, but this FAQ is dedicated to helping stealth fanatics make
the best stealth character possible. The stealth build given even works pretty
well on the "very hard" difficulty setting, though you have to be really careful
to take tough enemies down at range. As in Fallout 3, "very hard" difficulty
will have you doing half damage and enemies doing you double damage. And
you don't even get extra combat XP for that in this game. What a rip-off!

Everything in this FAQ is based on playthrus of the PC version of Fallout: New
Vegas with the latest patches (forcibly applied by Steam) as of the date given
in the top version note below. Any differences you experience will probably be
due to playing on a different gaming platform or not letting Steam update the
game by playing it in offline mode.

If you have tips for improving my stealth build or the V.A.T.S. reference
section, or have a different stealth build that you want to share, send me an
email at the address given in the copyright section.

Portal 2 Delayed Until April 18th, 2011

Portal 2 was previously delayed until Feb. 2011, but now Valve has announced another delay.

Valve announces shortest delay in valve history:

"Valve today announced that Portal 2 -- the sequel to the ground-breaking title that won over 30 game of the year awards, despite missing its original ship date -- will now be available the week of April 18th, 2011. This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve's proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date".

Fallout New Vegas Sniper Build

Fallout New Vegas Sniper Build

Fallout New Vegas Sniper Build guide by Captain-Oshie.

I just built this build of a sniper off the top of my head, so if anything's wrong with it, please let me know.

Stats:

Strength: 6
Perception: 5
Endurance: 5
Charisma: 1
Intelligence: 6
Agility: 8
Luck: 9

Small Frame (+1 AGL, limbs cripple easier)
4 Eyes Trait

Lily (for extra critical damage she gives, and stealth boy bonus)
Boone (back up fire if needed)
You can put ED-E in, but he really isn't needed that much, and sticks out to
enemies.

Red Beret
Chinese Stealth Armor or Recon Armor (If you really want, you can take 2 off of
STR and put it into INT, then wear the T-51b power armor, this gives you more
skill points to use throughout the game, but makes it kind of hard to do
anything if you don't have the power armor).

Unless you know you are going to be fighting close quarters (which you
shouldn't be), you should wear this, since you should kill most enemies without
them noticing.

Fallout New Vegas Melee Brute Build

Fallout New Vegas Melee Brute Build

Fallout New Vegas Melee Brute Build & Guide by Xynth.

This is a short and hopefully effective guide to basically create a total homicidal maniac butcher, first time inspiration from me 8). This guy is never going to solve anything by Speech checks. Just complete and utter beating. If you're going to play this on very hard (as I always do), I'm warning you.

It can be a real pain at start. NPC's like Nightstalkers, Deathclaws and Cazadors are difficult and easily 2-4 shot you at the beginning of the game, so be pre- pared. Especially beware Deathclaws. They are not to be trifled with until you have what is needed. And that's very late in the game.

Where to start? Well bliss and heaven, there's a fallout.wikia.com and it's been hugely helpful for me. It shows all the weapons and armor you need for this character. Read it, it's a wise decision. You can't go around running with a baseball bat the entire game, especially on very hard difficulty.

Gameplay with this character can be tricky on hardest difficulty. But it gets more and more simple the better your character gets. Elite creatures, which provide 50xp/kill need a different type of approach. Sneaking is one option but often it isn't. Getting pure Sneak attacks IS difficult as a melee charac- ter. Most of all I can't tell how much you'll want to have Boone and Rex as your companions. Boone is an excellent damage dealer, Rex is an excellent tank.

He always gets the attention of hostiles and you can freely punch/hack/ whatever them to death. So being alone as a melee character isn't any way to go in my opinion. Imagine going to Dead Wind Cavern (Deathclaw nest) alone on very hard. Not good. Doesn't work even with best armor, weapons and all perks. Rely on companions. Their HP rejuvenates after combat. Yours will not. So back off and let them tank. When facing powerful ranged enemies, be sure to protect yourself with any object there is while running forward.

Skills

Tag Melee Weapons, Unarmed and Sneak. It's very important that you get Unarmed to at least 90, Sneak to at least 80, Melee Weapons to at least 90. Medici- ne is up to you but you'll be taking a lot of damage, so it's advisable to get it somewhere around 40-50, if possible. I'd still suggest that you get Un- armed and Melee Weapons straight to 100. If you don't want to gimp, get all 4 skill books. I might suggest getting survival to 30 for Hunter perk. Seems pretty useful.

Traits

Built to Destroy, Small Frame or nothing. It's your call. Don't take Heavy Handed either. Small Frame is advisable for non-HC. That way you won't have to gimp AG at start to more than 5. You'll get 2 more AG from Implant and Small Frame, so don't worry about losing Slayer perk. Plus you get to have 1 extra SPECIAL for say, Luck? I didn't do this myself but it might be the best choi- ce. Don't know how easily your limbs will cripple 8(.

SPECIAL

Below is my opinion of the best stats to start with. It's not gimped and Strength and Endurance will be maxed out in the end, as needed. If you want all the best perks right away, then those stats will be S8 P6 E7 C1 I5 A7 L6. If you want to make an even more powerful melee character, I GUESS it's ok to lower IN and increase LC. Don't know if there are any major consequences but I'm keeping it 5. Skill points are always useful anyhow. If you don't want to gimp and you're ready to do some more work with you character, here's what you need to do (DO it).

ST 8 (10 after Implant and Power Armor)
PE 5 (6 after Implant, needed for Better Criticals)
EN 9 (10 after Implant)
CH 1 (2 after Implant, however completely unnecessary)
IN 5 (6 after Implant)
AG 6 (7 after Implant, needed for Slayer). Start with 5 if Small Frame
LC 6 (7 after Implant). Start with 7 if Small Frame.

Perks(in no particular order, it's up to you to choose what to take and when) lvl 2 Confirmed

Bachelor (For extra damage against males)
lvl 4 Lady Killer (For extra damage against females)
lvl 6 Toughness or Bloody Mess
lvl 8 Super Slam (45 Melee Weapons)
lvl 10 Finesse or Toughness again
lvl 12 Silent Running (50 Sneak)
lvl 14 Purifier/Light Step
lvl 16 Better Criticals (PE 6 from Implant)
lvl 18 Piercing Strike (70 Unarmed)
lvl 20 Ninja (80 Melee Weapons, 80 Sneak)
lvl 22 Unstoppable Force (90 Melee Weapons). If you have nothing better to take.

lvl 24 Slayer (90 Unarmed)

lvl 26 Lifegiver

lvl 28 Paralyzing Palm (probably useless) or whatever is left.

lvl 30 Hunter (30 Survival) or whatever is left.

Goldeneye 007 Review

Goldeneye 007 Review

SilvereEye 006"

Review by Umbreona.

While I have always been a big fan of FPS games and LOVE the Wiimote & Nunchuck style of playing them to the point of being addicted to it now, GoldenEye for the Wii left me feeling a Wii disappointed. I know that the game has a lot of Hype and that it could NEVER really live up to the Hype that the original N64 version created.

That game DEFINED the modern FPS genre and gave us a lot of what we expect in an FPS these days with CoD and Halo 2 giving us much of the rest. So let me break this game down and get into the grit of what was good and what was bad.

Fallout New Vegas Energy Weapons Build Guide

Fallout New Vegas Energy Weapons Build Guide

Fallout New Vegas Energy Weapons Build Guide by Villedge (mvilladolid | Google Mail)

Here's my guide to create the ultimate energy weapon killer, whether your weapon of choice is laser or plasma.

Please note, this build is designed for core mode, so if you want to play hardcore either make the necessary tweaks or just don't follow this build.

To begin with, let's take a look at the starting SPECIAL:

Str: 4
Per: 7
End: 7
Cha: 1
Int: 6
Agi: 6
Lck: 9

Traits: Four eyes, Built to Destroy

Four eyes effectively boosts your perception to 8 while wearing glasses, and
built to destroy increases your chance to score critical hits, which is
invaluable to this build.

Now, to explain these values:

For strength I chose 4 because, assuming you get a strength implant, your final
value will be 5. The most powerful energy weapon, the Gauss rifle, has a
handling strength of 5. Case closed. Although if you would prefer to use a
heavier energy weapon such as the Tesla Cannon, I suggest you move points from
luck and into strength.
