Minetest is a sandbox survival / building game inspired by Minecraft. The difference is the author of Minetest wants to take survival multiplayer gameplay in a different direction.
Although to be honest, Minetest is too much of a clone. Where is the originality? It's nice to see some competition, but just copying Minecraft won't get you very far.
